A lawyer specializing in corporate, product and financial-market law, Olivier Girardeau is Director of Sustainable Finance Oversight and Supervision at the Autorité des marchés financiers. In that capacity, he plays a key role in ensuring that Québec maintains a financial sector that is dynamic, operates with integrity and warrants public trust by leading a team responsible for developing the regulatory framework for, and monitoring compliance with, obligations regarding disclosure of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues by public companies and the offering of investment products related to ESG factors.

He has had the opportunity to develop a unique perspective on, and a comprehensive understanding of, best practices in governance, the social and environmental responsibility of organizations and the role of the financial sector in the transition to a more sustainable economy.
